Skip to main contentJulius can use Advanced Reasoning to break down complex prompts into smaller steps, reason through each part, and synthesize a clear, actionable answer.
This is especially useful when you’re:
- Working with multi-step analyses (e.g., explore → clean → model → interpret)
- Comparing multiple complex scenarios or hypotheses
- Asking for structured plans, checklists, or decision trees
- Want to do all of the above with a single prompt
What Advanced Reasoning Does
When advanced reasoning is engaged, Julius will:
- Create a plan for the task
- Work through the plan step by step
- Fix any errors or issues that arise, and update the plan as needed
You can view the plan in the Reasoning tab on the right sidebar.
When to Use Advanced Reasoning
Advanced reasoning is most helpful when you want Julius to handle a complex task in a single prompt—for example, cleaning data, running analyses, and summarizing findings all at once.
However, for the best reliability and control, we still recommend breaking big problems into multiple smaller prompts (e.g., “clean the data” → “explore drivers” → “summarize results”) and iterating.
Use advanced reasoning in a single prompt when:
- You want Julius to propose and execute a plan end-to-end for a complex question
- You’re exploring and prefer speed and breadth over fine-grained control
- You need a first draft of an analysis, plan, or strategy that you’ll refine with follow-up prompts
